Ron Paul has had some interesting ideas on the role of government throughout his career. Hurricane Irene prompted him to espouse this whopper. Essentially, Paul believes that FEMA should be eliminated – it is inefficient, bureaucratic, underfunded, and has created a “culture of dependency.” Continue reading

He got game?

It is said that no plan survives contact with the enemy and there is nothing more warlike than Politics. I previously outlined why I think Obama would “win” the Debt negotiations. Last night, it seems that I have been proven wrong.

But, I think it remains to be seen whether Obama flinched or, if Obama just handed Boehner even more rope to get the job done once and for all.

Obama is a better political operator than I and he has showed me that time and time again. Even in the budget talks, he gamed Boehner and put the Democrats – finally - in a political position to end the Bush tax cuts once and for all. So, I reserve judgement to see how this plays out.
